Goodbid is an online marketplace offering you a simple and secure platform for buying and selling. To get started, you can create your own profile, and it’s free to post your items for sale. As a seller, you control your own auctions, set your own reserve price, and decide the terms of the sales agreement.
Once your item sells, you will be charged a minimal fee that is automatically deducted from the payment transaction at the end of your auction. While it is completely free to post as many products as you want to sell, you simply pay a small transactional fee for the products that are successfully sold. (For prices and conditions, see "Prices.")Donating on Goodbid
At Goodbid, we want to help you give back! That’s why we created a tool that makes it easy for you to support the organizations you care about. Every sale in our online marketplace results in a donation to a great cause, because when you sell your items, you get to choose a percentage of the sales price to be donated to the organization of your choice.
When posting a new product, you decide how much of the selling price you want to donate (ranging from 5 percent to 99 percent), and which organization you would like the donation to go to. Note: The organization has to be selected from our provided list of Goodbid partners.Auction and “Buy Now” Listings
At Goodbid, listings can be posted in auction-style or have fixed prices. Fixed pricing means that the item can be instantly purchased for the listed price on the “Buy Now” button. Auction listings allow buyers to place bids, creating friendly competition between bidders as they continue to increase the price until the end of the auction. At the end of the auction, the highest bidder wins the item.Auctions Terms and Features
The value of the current bid determines the lowest possible increase for the next bid. For example, if the current bid on a product is $50, the next bid must be at least $50.50 or higher. The bid increase is adjusted according to the rates below:
The reserve price for an item determines how long the auction will last once the first bid is placed. (The following table provides an overview of the different durations in relation to the reserve price:Reserve Auction Time
The reserve price is the minimum guaranteed amount that an item can be purchased for. At the end of an auction, if the winning bid is over the reserve price, the bid will be automatically accepted—confirming the sales agreement. The buyer is directly responsible for payment, and the seller is required to deliver the sold goods. If the winning bid is under the reserve price, the seller will be able to accept or reject the bid at their discretion.Goodbid Key Features
If you would like to monitor or keep track of the activity of specific products, you can mark these as "favorites" by pressing the star on the product page. Once you’ve marked the item, the product will be listed under your "favorites" page, and you will receive updates via push messages (app) or email when bidding or other activity occurs on that listing.
